In the Introduction to knife making class we will focus on the fundamentals of what makes a great knife. From steel type and heat treat to shaping and finishing techniques, we will set the student up with the basic knowledge base and hands on learning experience to get started in bladesmithing. This is a stock removal class.
This one day, seven hour class will consist of classroom as well as shop time and the attendee will make a small blade from scratch. For best results, some finishing (such as tempering and hand polishing) can be done at home - after conclusion of the class. Lunch and further educational reading materials will be provided.
